Global rockers Green Day are heading down under in March 2025 and have added the Gold Coast to the tour schedule, the band’s only Queensland performance.
The multi-Grammy Award winning American rock band will bring their Saviors world tour to Australia for three shows, the first in Melbourne, then Sydney and concluding the tour with a performance at Cbus Stadium in Robina on 5 March.
It has been six years since Green Day toured Australia, and the first time they have performed a stadium show on the Gold Coast.
"Securing a Queensland-exclusive, for one of the globe’s favourite punk rock bands is a huge coup for the Gold Coast," said Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn.
"Australian fans haven't had the chance to see Green Day for more than six years and never on the Gold Coast, so we're expecting a lot of people to travel here from across the state, and indeed the country, for the opportunity to experience the high-energy live performance this rock trio is known for."
Green Day is one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, with more than 75 million records sold worldwide, 10 billion cumulative audio/visual streams and five Grammy Awards among a host of other accolades.
"The Green Day show will undoubtedly be a highlight for local fans, who will get the chance to experience their electrifying energy live at the Queensland-exclusive tour date,” said Live Nation Australia’s Chairman and Green Day promoter, Michael Coppel.
“The overwhelming success of recent concerts by global superstars like Harry Styles, P!nk, and the upcoming Pearl Jam show reaffirms the Gold Coast's position as a thriving hub for live entertainment,” concluded Coppel.
“These sold-out shows demonstrate the city's ability to attract top-tier talent and provide unforgettable experiences for music fans. We're excited to be partnering with Cbus to bring an unforgettable event to life on the Gold Coast. Attracting major acts like Green Day reinforces the city’s reputation as a premier destination for live music,” said Ticketmaster Australia, Managing Director, Gavin Taylor.
“For the past decade, we have worked tirelessly to attract more global music events to the coast,’’ said Acting Mayor Donna Gates.
“Our hard work is paying dividends with major acts now including the coast on their national and international tour schedules. Hats off to Live Nation and Experience Gold Coast for securing Green Day for Cbus Stadium. It’ll be a packed house.’’
This will be the biggest music concert Cbus Stadium has hosted. In 2022 iconic rockers KISS performed at the Robina venue.
Cbus Super Stadium Venue Manager Kristian Blundell said Cbus is more than ready to welcome the American band for what’s expected to be sell out show.
“Green Day is a huge drawcard for the venue, and as the voice of a global generation of punk rock fans particularly through the 90s and early noughties and I think tickets will be snapped up quickly, by fans both locally and interstate,” Mr Blundell said.
“Our first concert, the Kiss End of the Road world tour was a great success, even with just six weeks’ notice, so its clear local fans want more music, and the stadium stands ready to deliver a monster show for Green Day! We look forward to continuing to play our part to ensure the Gold Coast continues to thrive as an events destination”
Green Day is just one of the big international and national music acts and festivals set to rock the Gold Coast in the coming months. In October the city will host Promiseland Festival and Groundwater Country Music Festival, while in November The Kid Laroi and Xavier Rudd will perform at HOTA, Home of the Arts, and American rock band Pearl Jam will perform here for the first time.
General Public tickets for Green Day’s The Saviors Tour date at Gold Coast’s Cbus Stadium will go on sale on Friday 20 September, with presale tickets on sale from Monday 16 September.
