The Gold Coast is set to witness history as the Women’s State of Origin comes to town for the first time this Thursday.
Game three of the 2026 Women's State of Origin Series is set to play out on Maroons’ home soil at Cbus Super Stadium, as the side sets out to regain their pride in front of a home crowd.
The venue is leaning into the historical match, serving limited-edition maroon burgers and doughnuts, and ‘Snakes of Origin’ exclusively for the event.
Stadiums Queensland Catering and Services Manager Andrew Whillas said the venue’s catering outlets will be serving up Maroons pride to fuel a Queensland win.
“It’s great to work with our catering partner Gema to bring unique themed food to the Women’s State of Origin to mark this historic occasion and bring a little extra Queensland pride to the stands,” Mr Whillas said.
“We’re always looking to enhance the game day experience for our patrons right across the Stadiums Queensland portfolio, and this is a great way to support your team while having a great meal.”
The match will mark the first time the Women’s State of Origin will be held at the Gold Coast, and just the third game three in the competition’s history.
A/Venue General Manager Alie Tatnell said she was thrilled for Cbus Super Stadium to showcase the very best of women’s sport.
“We can’t wait to host one of the biggest games on the NRL calendar and showcase the electric atmosphere that is synonymous with a Rugby League game at Cbus Super Stadium,” Mrs Tatnell said.
“Game three is set to draw plenty of locals to the Gold Coast and we’re hoping to recreate some of the iconic Origin hype generated when we hosted the men’s game in 2021.”
“We’re encouraging fans to make the most of the night by planning their journey to the stadium, arriving early, having their tickets downloaded, and soaking up every bit of origin energy.”
The Women’s State of Origin joins a huge lineup of national and international content choosing to come to Cbus Super Stadium including World Supercross, Monster Jam, and Rugby League World Cup 2026.
This event also solidifies Cbus Super Stadium’s growing reputation as a destination of choice for major women’s sporting events having recently welcomed crowds to six AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 matches in March.
