Cbus Super Stadium was a sea of maroon and blue as the city turned out to witness their very first Women’s State of Origin match.
The rain couldn’t deter the passionate fans who filled the stadium with noise and created an electric atmosphere to support the historical fixture
Fans also got into the spirit as they snapped up limited-edition maroon burgers, doughnuts and ‘Snakes of Origin’.
The night saw a host of familiar faces at the stadium with several Gold Coast Titans players representing both teams, including Maroons stars Lauren Brown, Jessika Elliston, Ivana Lolesio, Sienna Lofipo and Destiny Mino-Sinapati, as well as Blues’ Jaime Chapman.
A/Venue General Manager said it was great to welcome a new product to the Gold Coast.
“We’re proud to have hosted the very first Women’s State of Origin on the Gold Coast, not only showcasing the best in women’s sport but also providing an amazing experience for the Gold Coast community,” Mrs Tatnell said.
“Hosting yet another incredible event at Cbus Super Stadium really solidifies our growing reputation as a destination of choice for major sporting events.”
The Blues came out on top with a 12-4 win, taking out the series in a 3-0 sweep.
