Volunteer registrations are officially open today for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™, with just 200 days to go until the biggest celebration of women’s football in our region kicks off on home soil.
Volunteers will be at the heart of the tournament’s success, supporting matches across all three host cities – Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney – from 1- 21 March and helping deliver an unforgettable experience for fans, players and officials from all 12 competing nations.
From media operations and team services to fan experience, transport and accreditation, the tournament will offer a wide range of volunteer roles – with opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels to get involved.
The volunteer program will be a celebration of culture, community and connection. Volunteers will play a key role in showcasing Australia’s diversity, and in shaping a warm, welcoming environment for visiting teams and fans from across Asia.
To reflect this spirit, a bold and vibrant volunteer brand has been created, featuring a striking palette of cyan, hot pink and deep navy, and a logo made up of five ‘V’ shapes representing Asia’s five regions and the volunteers who will power the tournament.
The Indigenous patterns created by First Nations artists Shauna Hill and Grace Amidy, which feature in the tournament’s master brand, are also woven throughout the volunteer brand to highlight the connection between First Nations culture, Asian heritage, and the world game. The distinctive volunteer brand will be applied to the official volunteer uniform, giving every volunteer a visual connection to the culture and community at the heart of the tournament.
Australia has a proud tradition of volunteers stepping up to deliver iconic events – from the Sydney 2000 Olympics to the recent FIFA Women’s World Cup. The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ will carry that legacy forward and once again show the world the passion, pride and power of people coming together that define major events in this country.
Volunteers, who need to be at least 16 years old, will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a major sporting event, an opportunity to build confidence, gain valuable career skills, make lifelong friends and create unforgettable memories.
With positions available across a wide range of areas, no previous experience is necessary – just enthusiasm, reliability and a team-first attitude.
Quote attributable to Co-Chair of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ Local Organising Committee Board and Volunteer Program Ambassador, Jaclyn Lee-Joe:
“Volunteers are the heartbeat of every great tournament. They bring the energy, passion and people-power that make events like this truly special.
This is your chance to ‘be part of the dream’, to contribute to something bigger than yourself, to help create unforgettable moments, and to showcase the best of Australia to the world.
The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ is more than a celebration of football. It’s a celebration of culture, connection and community. Whether you’re 16 or 60, volunteering can open doors, build confidence, forge lifelong friendships and leave a lasting legacy.”
